CAP Co-Founder Myra Snell Finalist for National Award

Screen Shot 2014-02-19 at 4.08.53 PMMyra Snell, Co-Founder of the California Acceleration Project, is one of four finalists for the national “Faculty Innovation” award from the American Association of Community Colleges.

The nomination recognizes Snell’s pioneering work in developing Path2Stats, an alternate math pathway for students who will take Statistics to fulfill their college math requirements (those not in math-intensive majors), and for supporting other community colleges to develop similar models.

“Math does not have to be the burial ground for students’ dreams of a college degree and the opportunities that come with it,” Snell said in an interview with the Contra Costa Times. Click on the image above to read the full article.
