More than 100 teachers from 30 California community colleges have participated in this extended professional development program for faculty teaching new accelerated developmental courses. Will you and your colleagues be part of next year’s group?
3CSN and the California Acceleration Project are now accepting applications for the 2013-14 Community of Practice in Acceleration. Participants receive extensive support to develop and teach new accelerated courses in reading/writing and math, including three in-person workshops, ongoing coaching, and collaboration with a network of innovative faculty.
Application materials are linked below. In math, priority will be given to teams developing alternative pathways for students in non-Algebra-intensive majors. Colleges concerned about transfer articulation should review the handout on how community colleges are navigating pre-requisite issues under existing Title 5 regulations.
